Many studies over the centuries and examination of the landscape and topographic maps of the time, indicate that Leonardo Da Vinci made many drawings of this bridge and surroundings. It is almost certain the bridge in the right hand background of the portrait of the Mona Lisa is the Roman Buriano Bridge.
