Castiglione del Lago, walls and Senese gate

Castiglione del Lago is a pretty town on a peninsula on the western shores of Lake Trasimeno, The city is still surrounded by its 13th century walls through which there are several gates, the Senese gate featured is the main entrance to the old town. a stroll down the main street takes you to the old castle built in 1247 named " Fortress of the Lion" after which the city was named.
